What We Do:
Tafford is making great strides in implementing business practices that are better for the environment. As a company, we are making a
conscious effort to help preserve natural resources, recycle the materials that we do use, and promote a healthy environment.
Energy efficient technology: We have revamped our technology to be more power efficient and have implemented
tools to help monitor and manage the power consumption at our corporate headquarters. We have also installed energy saving light fixtures
and motion sensing light switches in our corporate office and five store locations.
Catalog Circulation Management: Tafford is increasing its investment in mailing list hygiene efforts to reduce the
number of wasted catalogs that are sent out. We check our mailing lists against the National Change of Address database at least every 90
days and we do not send catalogs to questionable addresses. We are also deploying modern circulation management best practices to
predict which customers are most likely to want to receive a catalog, and will not mail those that we feel would not be interested. We
are also exploring electronic catalogs and plan to learn how we can effectively use them to optimize the quantity of catalogs in the mail.
Recycling: Tafford is very conscious about recycling and has implemented company-wide policies to dispose properly
of all waste. Our catalogs are not coated with any wax, glue or plastic to ensure that they can all be recycled. We were one of the
first catalogs to join the Direct Marketing Associations “Recycle Please” campaign to encourage our customers to recycle their Tafford
catalogs.
Environmental Organizations: We are also working in conjunction with a number of local and national non-profit
environmental organizations in their efforts to protect nature.
